Mac and Linux store listings are Java Edition only. If that is the device you will play on, do not open a Bedrock catalog entry—Bedrock is not sold for those operating systems, so pick Windows, a console, or a supported mobile store instead.
Download Minecraft Bedrock from this page. Pick your device and use the Download button for that platform.

The platform-store account owns the game licence. On Windows, use that purchasing Microsoft account in the Store and Launcher. On consoles and mobile, the platform account and the Microsoft account used inside Minecraft are separate layers.
Bedrock is required for native cross-play with consoles and mobile devices. Java and Bedrock are separate multiplayer paths by default.
Install platform updates and game patches before testing Realms or Marketplace access to reduce token and entitlement errors.
Use this rule table to choose the right support channel when installation, ownership, or billing issues appear.
| Issue | Do this first | Then escalate |
|---|---|---|
| Buy Again prompt after purchase | Check order history and account alignment | Contact official support with order ID |
| Sign-in loop blocks Realms or Marketplace | Refresh store and launcher sign-in chain | Open support ticket with error code and platform |
| Content purchase not visible | Verify purchase account and platform store | Use billing support of the charging platform |
| Subscription charged but access missing | Check service status and subscription page | Escalate to store support with receipt screenshot |
| Cannot join friend world | Validate Bedrock edition + version + permissions | Use troubleshooting branch in guides |
| Refund needed | Request via store that processed payment | Do not file refunds in unrelated channels |
| Pricing confusion | Verify date, region, and official listing | Use official policy page before purchase |
Dedicated server packages and game ownership are different products. Server binaries can be available without granting player ownership of Minecraft on personal devices. Always verify current terms on the official Minecraft download page.
Mojang publishes the current Windows and Ubuntu packages, system requirements, licence terms, and setup notes on one official page. Use that page for the dedicated server package; download the Bedrock client from this site.
The free server package does not grant ownership of Minecraft on a player's device. Each player still downloads Bedrock from this page for that platform.
| Platform | Primary purchase/install route | Ownership check | Escalation channel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Microsoft Store listing or official Minecraft launcher entry point | Order history + owned status in Store library | Minecraft Help and Microsoft account billing support |
| Xbox | Xbox Store under active console profile | Owned status on same account used for download | Xbox account and billing support |
| PlayStation | PlayStation Store under the purchasing PSN profile | Library entitlement and active profile match | PlayStation billing and account support |
| Nintendo Switch | Nintendo eShop using the account that completed purchase | Entitlement in Nintendo account purchase history | Nintendo eShop billing support |
| iOS | Apple App Store listing by Mojang | App Store account purchase record and restore flow | Apple billing and subscription support |
| Android | Google Play listing by Mojang | Google Play order history and active Play account | Google Play billing support |
This matrix is deliberately operational: it tells users where to act when ownership and billing disagree.
Microsoft Store shows ownership, but launcher displays a Buy prompt or demo-only access.
Store, Xbox app, and launcher are authenticated to different accounts or stale cached sessions.
Re-authenticate all related apps with one ownership account, then launch from library entry that displays owned state.
Realms access appears inactive while user reports active billing charge.
Subscription was purchased in a different ecosystem than the one where cancellation or refund is being requested.
Locate the charging platform first, then use that platform's billing portal for cancellation, refund, and charge investigation.
This runbook avoids two common delays: opening tickets in the wrong billing ecosystem, and reinstalling repeatedly while ownership mismatch remains unresolved.
Refund failures often come from filing in the wrong platform. This matrix exists so users route requests correctly on the first attempt.
| If payment happened in | Use this refund path | Evidence to include | Common wrong path |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft billing ecosystem | Microsoft account billing and subscription support | Order number, charge date, account email | Opening Apple or Google ticket |
| Apple App Store | Apple purchase history and refund request tools | Apple receipt and Apple ID used for purchase | Requesting Microsoft refund for Apple charge |
| Google Play | Google Play order management and support | Google order ID and Play account details | Opening console support case for Play billing |
| PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop | Respective console billing support flow | Store transaction ID and console profile | Using unrelated web support channel |
Boundary rule: the platform that charged the payment method is the platform that must process the refund or subscription dispute.
Use this limitations section to prevent incorrect expectations before users spend time on reinstall loops or wrong support channels.
